In August, Tan Cang- Cat Lai accommodated 267 vessels (including 211 container vessels and 44 transshipment vessels) – an increase of 16 vessels to those of July. Terminal A received 118 vessels and Terminal B received 149 Vessels. The throughput of container of August was 231.740 teus. Net productivity reached 54 cont/vh and Portstay one was 46.7cont/vh. The Maximum net and portstay productivity was 84.2cont/vh and 69.7cont/vh respectively (those reached with Vessel Uni-Ahead- V.284S). The average of truck around time inside the terminal in August was 60 minutes/cont.

On 22 September 2010, TCCT solemnly held a maiden call celebration for ZIM Integrated Shipping Service Services Ltd (ZIM) inaugurating its first direct service from Vietnam to Israel and Europe. Attending the event was Mr. Amnon Efrat – Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Dan Hoffman – ZIM’s Far East & Asia President and representatives from Saigon Newport (SNP) and Tan Cang – Cai Mep Container Terminal (TCCT)

On 17 September 2010, Tan Cang – Cai Mep Container Terminal (TCCT) solemnly held a maiden call celebration for CSAV Norasia’s M/V Nordwinter V.01034N. Being part of ASIAM (Asia – America) service, her rotation is as follows: TCCT - Yantian - Shanghai - Ningbo - Long Beach - Pusan - Shanghai - Ningbo - Chiwan - Port Kelang - Colombo - Nhava Sheva - Mundra - Karachi - Port Kelang - TCCT.

Following the policy of the Standing Party Committee of the Vietnam People’s Navy to continue to promote “acts of gratitude", on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 02), on 19 August 2010, Saigon Newport Corporation coordinated with local authorities of Gia Lai Province, Ia Grai District and Yahrung Commune to start the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the construction of house of gratitude valued VND 50 million for a family under preferential treatment headed by Mr. Puih Denh, 1/4 wounded ex-soldier. Attending the event was Mr. Tran Thanh Huyen, Vice Admiral, Party Chief - Political Commissar of the Vietnam People’s Navy, Mr. Mang Dung, Vice Chairman of Gia Lai People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Dang Nghiem, Senior Colonel -General Director of Saigon Newport Corporation and representatives from the Vietnam People’s Navy, Region IV of Navy Command, Saigon Newport Corporation, Ia Grai District and Yahrung Commune.

 In the afternoon of 09 August 2010, the Government working group of Socialist Republic of Vietnam, led by His Excellency Prime Minister and Politburo Member Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung, have visited and worked with Saigon Newport Corporation at Tan Cang - Cai Mep Container Terminal (TCCT). Receiving the delegation was representatives from Saigon Newport headed by Senior Colonel Nguyen Dang Nghiem - Vice Chairman of the Members’ Council, General Director and Party Member of the Vietnam People’s Navy, other Vice General Directors and management from all functional departments, enterprises, subsidiaries and affiliates as well as all staff of TCCT.

On 6 August 2010, Saigon Newport Corporation has successfully organized the customer conference at Tan Cang – Long Binh ICD. This is the first time the customer conference has been held at Long Binh area, Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province. Attending at the conference were the representatives of Dong Nai Department of Industry and Trade, Dong Nai Customs Department, shipping lines, shippers, forwarders, stevedoring companies, press and media...

At the conference, Mr. Tran Khanh Hoang, Vice Director of Saigon Newport Corporation and Mr. Nguyen Van Chien, Deputy Manager of Dong Nai Customs Department have discussed with distinguished guests about the operations and use of ICD, warehousing, transport and logistics service at Tan Cang – Long Binh ICD and Tan Cang – Long Binh Investment & Service Development Enterprise. Generally speaking, customers highly appreciate service quality at Tan Cang – Long Binh. Taking this opportunity, Mr. Tran Khanh Hoang extended special thanks to customers for their crucial support and also committed to satisfy customer needs incessantly by improving service quality with numerous specific policies and actions.
On the side of the Customs, Dong Nai Customs Department representatives also stressed that many enterprise-supporting measures have been positively taken by Dong Nai Customs such as E-customs deployment at Bien Hoa Customs Office, establishment and deployment of the inspection point at Go Dau – Long Thanh, innovation of customs management method, review and recommendation for resolving overlapping & unreasonable administrative procedures and enhancement of team building for customs officers for excellent service manner.
The success of Customer Conference 2010 at Tan Cang – Long Binh ICD has proved great prestige and service quality that the Saigon Newport Corporation has built in recent years.

In the evening of 22nd July 2010, the opening ceremony of the Seaman’s Club at Cat Lai terminal was held by Saigon Newport Coprporation with the attendance of representatives from the shipping lines, captains and crew members of the King Bruce (OOCL), Yantra Bhum and Bani Bhum (RCL), Wanhai 211 (Wanhai), Van Xuan (Vinalines) as well as the reprerentatives from relating departments, enterprises and subsidiaries of SNP.

Terminal A received 104 vessels and Terminal B received 140 Vessels. The throughput of container of June was 221, 023 teus. Net productivity reached 55.4 cont/vh and Portstay one was 47.1 cont/vh. The Maximum net and portstay productivity was 82.4 cont/vh and 72.8 cont/vh respectively (those reached with Vessel Panja Bhum- V.S63). The average of truck around time inside the terminal in June was 0.91 h/cont.

On July 1st 2010, the JV Contract Signing Ceremony to establish Tan Cang- STC human resources development Company Ltd was held solemnly at the head office of STC Group in Rotterdam -Netherlands. The representatives of both parties attended the Ceremony: Mr. Nguyen Dang Nghiem - SNP’s General Director of, Mr. Tran Khanh Hoang- SNP’s Deputy General Director, Mr. Phung Ngoc Minh- SNP’s Financial Director and Mr. Bui Van Quy- SNP’s Marketing Director, Mr. Erik Hietbrink - Chairman cum CEO and the key directors of STC Group. Especially, Mr. Jan Kok- representative of the Dutch Economic Ministry and Mr. Huynh Minh Chinh- the Vietnamese ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary in Netherlands have also been present at the Ceremony.
