The throughput of TCCT in December has steadily increased 5% in comparison with the volume of November. Although the volume increased sharply, TCCT has still maintain a high handling productivity. The average net productivity is 85 – 90moves/hour/3 cranes and net port staying time for carriers has shortened considerably.
The feeder service connecting Hai Phong, Quy Nhon and TCCT has created more choices for the shippers. The containers of some shippers to Europe and the USA has been trans-shipped at TCCT instead of going to Hong Kong or Singapore as previously. This feeder service helps shippers in the North and Middle of Vietnam to save time and cost. It is expected that the volume of trans-shipped containers from Cambodia, North and Middle of Vietnam to TCCT shall increased sharply in 2011.
After more than one year operational, the direct receipt/ delivery of containers at TCCT goes up continuously with the ratio of 16%. The increase of the direct receipt/delivery thanks to the shortening of the truck turn-around time at TCT- within 30 minutes only. Besides, the policy of the reducing and waiving of lifting on-off charge and stuffing/un-stuffing at TCCT has also attracted consignees and shippers to have their containers delivered directly at TCCT, especially the shippers/consignees of the industrial parks in Dong Nai and Baria Vung Tau provinces.
In 2011, TCCT shall continues its policy on the discount of the lifting on/off and stuffing/un-stuffing charges. TCCT has also coordinated with shipping lines to allow shippers to return or deliver the empty containers at TCCT, the free storage time of TCCT is up to 21 days . TCCT look forward to having the good cooperation and support of the shippers for the direct delivery at TCCT, especially during the coming Tet holidays.
