The first container handled at Tan Cang - Thot Not Terminal
The investment project of Tan Cang – Thot Not Terminal was included in SNP’s plan in increasingly business developing in Mekong Delta Region. Having the strategic location as the port of the area, the economic center of Mekong River down-stream, Can Tho City, plays an essential role in the regional and international transportation network. By investing in Tan Cang – Thot Not Terminal, joining with Tan Cang - Tra Noc Terminal and other terminals in Mekong Delta, SNP provides lump-sum logistics services for waterway transportation connecting the region with HCM City and deep-water terminals in Vung Tau.
Tan Cang – Thot Not Terminal is temporarily 90% completed, capabled of handling 2.000 DWT ship, equipped with 70 meter-long wharf and 1.000 ton-barge dock. The area for cargo warehouses and container yard sprawls over 1,1 hectares. This terminal is functional for collecting, gathering, getting import/export goods clearance, especially rice, seafood and cattle food production in Can Tho City and neighbouring provinces such as An Giang, Dong Thap… Mr Nguyen Van Chien – SNP’s Vice President stated: “SNP believes in bringing more benefits for local enterprises as well as positively and efficiently contributing to the economic and social development of Can Tho City, by expanding goods volume, container clearance activities, minimizing logistics cost and transporting time. Furthermore, service quality and customer demand will still be satisfied”.
